A novel approach to music piracy

Green Day has done something really, really cool. They are offering a 5-pack of custom printed blank recordable CD-Rs featuring the color artwork of Green Day.

I think this a really original way of confronting music piracy, and it doesnt suprise me in the least that its coming from a punk band first.

Despite what the site may suggest about the use for these cds, we all know what they are really trying to do is simply make the best out of what is for them a bad situation. I think its very admirable that instead of whining on about their legal property and suing random nobodies for all they're worth the band and the company got together and figured out a way to keep their integrity (what punk band would support copyright laws?) and still earn from their work.
